United States v. Atkinson (N.D. Cal.) was a case in which our client was charged with fraud and faced over 150 years in prison. We succeeded in negotiating down to a misdemeanor.
United States v. Richardson (D. Az.) was Mr. Shapiro’s defense of an Esquire journalist arrested for trespassing on government property while covering a story, which resulted in the dismissal of the trespassing charge after a suppression hearing.
United States v. Yeung (N.D. Cal.), in which Ms. Boersch and Ms. Kollios represented a defendant through a three-week trial and appeal in a case involving wire fraud, conspiracy and obstruction of justice relating to mortgage loan transactions.
Rincon EV Realty LLC v. CP III Rincon Towers, Inc. (S.F. Superior Court) was a 19-day state court trial by David Shapiro that raised significant issues under California’s foreclosure statutes. On November 15, 2016, Mr. Shapiro participated in presenting the appeal of the case to the California Court of Appeal.
United States v. Beker (N.D. Cal.) was the successful defense by Martha Boersch of a defendant charged with wire fraud relating to the production of night-vision goggles, in which the court entered a judgment of acquittal at the conclusion of the government’s case after a three-week trial.
